The Maturity Cards turn the self-assessment into an engaging, hands-on activity. Each card describes a stage of maturity for a practice within the Learning Philanthropy Framework—from “not yet engaging” to “thriving.”
Working individually or together, participants select the card that best reflects their current practice. Comparing choices creates a natural starting point for honest discussion, helping teams recognize strengths, surface different perspectives, and identify opportunities for growth.
The Maturity Cards can be used across an entire foundation, within a team or initiative, or by individual learning leaders and champions. Use them to:
- Assess where you are: Identify your current stage of maturity for each learning practice.
- Define where you want to go: Choose a realistic, aspirational stage to work toward.
- Agree on next steps: Use the observable practices on the cards to identify concrete actions.
- Focus your efforts: Explore all six segments of the framework or concentrate on one or two priorities.
- Track and celebrate progress: Revisit your ratings over time to recognize growth and determine what comes next.
